FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) Managing Director (MD) Suthra Punjab Agency (SPA) Abid Hussain Bhatti has taken notice of non-payment of dues to private rickshaw drivers by the contractors and issued a show-cause notice to a private sanitation company for violating contractual obligations, which not only disrupted cleanliness operations but also affected reputation of Suthra Punjab project.
According to spokesman for local administration, the action was initiated after complaints surfaced that that contractors had failed to make timely payments to rickshaw drivers engaged in sanitation work, causing operational hurdles in waste collection and disposal activities.
The managing director observed that delay in payments was a serious breach of contract and undermined the efficiency of cleanliness drive.
He said that such negligence not only hampers field operations but also damages public trust in the flagship initiative.
He emphasized that under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz, transparency and service delivery remain top priorities in “Suthra Punjab Program”, which has gained recognition at international level.
Abid Hussain Bhatti made it clear that no mismanagement or negligence in sanitation operations would be tolerated, directing the contractor to immediately clear all outstanding dues of the private rickshaw drivers.
