Managing Director (MD) National Grid Company of Pakistan (NGC), Engr. Altaf Hussain Malik, on Monday visited the 500kV Grid Station Gatti, Faisalabad, and directed enhanced condition-based monitoring of ageing power assets to ensure reliable transmission system performance

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Managing Director (MD) National Grid Company of Pakistan (NGC), Engr. Altaf Hussain Malik, on Monday visited the 500kV Grid Station Gatti, Faisalabad, and directed enhanced condition-based monitoring of ageing power assets to ensure reliable transmission system performance.

The grid station, one of the oldest of its kind in the country, was commissioned in the 1980s, said a press release.

During the visit, the MD was accompanied by senior officials including Deputy Managing Director (AD&M) Engr. Rasheed A. Bhutto, General Manager Asset Management (North) Engr. Anees Ahmed, General Manager (Procurement & Contract Management) Engr. Sajjad Haider Syed, Chief Engineer (Material Procurement & Management) and Chief Engineer Asset Management (North).

He was given a detailed briefing on the operational status of the grid station and ongoing maintenance activities.

The MD directed the Asset Management team to further strengthen condition-based monitoring of ageing equipment and ensure timely maintenance and replacement in line with asset health assessments.

He also inspected the ongoing warehouse pavement work and instructed the team to accelerate the pace for earliest completion.

Engr. Altaf Hussain Malik appreciated the team’s efforts and reaffirmed NGC’s commitment to proactive asset management and a strong, reliable transmission system.
