Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab visits Spencer Eye Hospital

Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, during his visit to Spencer Eye Hospital, on Wedesday conducted a detailed inspection of the ongoing development and repair work and directed the concerned officials to further accelerate the pace of work

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, during his visit to Spencer Eye Hospital, on Wedesday conducted a detailed inspection of the ongoing development and repair work and directed the concerned officials to further accelerate the pace of work.

He said that along with improving the city’s infrastructure, making hospitals under the administrative control of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation more effective and modern is also a top priority so that citizens can be provided quality medical facilities at their doorstep.

He stated that after the completion of repair and upgradation work, modern facilities for eye treatment will be made available at the hospital. The restoration of OPD services is progressing rapidly and it is expected that OPD operations will formally commence by the end of Ramazan.

Furthermore, the operation theatre will also be made fully functional in the first week of April to ensure timely treatment for patients.

The Mayor Karachi emphasized that all resources are being utilized in a transparent manner so that all development and healthcare-related matters remain clear before the public. He added that after successful public-private partnership initiatives, more facilities will be introduced in the health sector.

On this occasion, he directed Senior Director Health KMC Dr. Mahwish Mithani to further enhance medical facilities at the hospital and continue effective measures to improve the standard of treatment for patients.
