Martyred cop Irshad Ahmad honoured on death anniversary

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2026) Police on Tuesday paid tribute to martyred Constable,Irshad Ahmad on the anniversary of his martyrdom by holding a commemorative ceremony at his grave,where a guard of honour was presented in recognition of his sacrifice in the line of duty.

Police officers visited the martyr's grave,offered Fateha and laid floral wreaths to pay homage to his services.

According to a police spokesperson,Constable Irshad Ahmad was performing his duties in the jurisdiction of Lohari Gate police station on July 22, 2011,when a bomb blast took place.

He sustained critical injuries in the explosion and later embraced martyrdom.

Officials said the constable laid down his life while discharging his professional responsibilities and protecting the lives and property of citizens.

The spokesperson said Multan Police reaffirmed that the sacrifices of its martyrs would always be remembered with honour,adding that those who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty would continue to inspire future generations and remain in the hearts of the nation.
