MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) The Police department approved Rs 2.5 million financial assistance for construction of home of a martyred policeman's family and second installment worth Rs 500,000 was handed over to the martyr's widow in the form of cheque here Monday.

District Police Officer Muzaffargarh, Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah, said welfare initiatives for families of police martyrs was a permanent feature of police support program.

The cheque was presented to the widow of martyred constable Muhammad Mumtaz for the construction of their under-construction house.

According to the police spokesperson, the latest cheque was handed over as part of the department’s ongoing support programme for the families of police Shuhada.

Earlier, another cheque of Rs500,000 had been provided to the martyr’s family in March for the same purpose.

The spokesperson said that the police department would provide a total financial assistance of Rs2.5 million for the construction of the house.

Speaking on the occasion, the DPO said that the martyrs of the department were “the pride of the force” and that the welfare of their families remained the top priority of Muzaffargarh Police.

He added that welfare measures were also being extended to injured police officials and serving personnel, assuring that no effort would be spared in ensuring their well-being and support.
