Marri visits Iranian embassy, offers condolences on passing of Supreme Leader

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) Central Spokesperson of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) Shazia Marri, Thursday visited the Embassy of Iran in Islamabad to express condolences over the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei.

During her visit, Marri met with Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri, and conveyed heartfelt sympathies on behalf of her party and the people of Pakistan, said a news release.

Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic news, Marri said that the passing of Ayatollah Khamenei had created an atmosphere of grief and mourning not only in Iran but across the world.

She said the incident as a deeply distressing loss for the Muslim Ummah and for peace in the region.

“The people of Pakistan stand with the people of Iran in this difficult time,” she said, adding that Ayatollah Khamenei was a wise and influential global leader whose leadership and role inspired millions around the world.

Marri also recorded her condolences in the condolence book at the Iranian Embassy, expressing solidarity with the Iranian nation.

She emphasized that the unity and solidarity between the people of Pakistan and Iran during such difficult moments was highly commendable.

Highlighting the strong ties between the two countries, she said Pakistan and Iran share historic, religious and brotherly relations.

Members of the National Assembly Sehar Kamran, Syed Hussain Tariq Shah, Syed Abrar Shah, and Fatehullah Khan also accompanied Shazia Marri during the condolence visit.
