KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) Governor Sindh Syed Nehal Hashmi has paid glowing tribute to the nation and the armed forces on the completion of one year of “Marka-e-Haq,” asserting that any attempt to undermine Pakistan’s sovereignty will be met with a united and resolute response.

In an interview with APP, Governor Hashmi said that a year ago, Pakistan’s armed forces, under the command of the Chief of the Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, strongly and effectively responded to Indian aggression, proving to the world that India sponsors terrorism.

He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with the armed forces, including the Army, Air Force and the Navy, gave a crushing reply that forced India to halt hostilities. He added that Pakistan demonstrated its defence capabilities by destroying enemy aircraft during the conflict.

The governor noted that following the victory, General Asim Munir was elevated to the rank of Field Marshal in recognition of his commanding role, while Pakistan gained international recognition and strengthened its diplomatic standing.

Syed Nehal Hashmi said the success of Marka-e-Haq enhanced Pakistan’s global image and proved that national unity can overcome any challenge.

He added that although there was a perception between 2018 and 2022 that Pakistan was internationally isolated, the situation changed after May 2025 as Pakistan effectively presented its stance to the world.

He said Pakistan intensified diplomatic outreach to friendly countries, particularly in the Islamic world, as well as Western nations, conveying that it had been subjected to aggression and has long been a victim of terrorism fueled by external interference, a position acknowledged globally.

Responding to a question, he said Pakistan also played a role in efforts to de-escalate regional conflicts, gaining support from countries including Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Qatar, China, Russia, Spain, Italy, and Azerbaijan, while the United States also recognized Pakistan as a peace-loving country.

He further said that US President Donald Trump describing Field Marshal Asim Munir as a courageous commander and it is an honor for Pakistan. He added that global media, including Indian outlets, acknowledged Pakistan’s effective foreign policy.

The governor said a strong leadership combination comprising Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and the Field Marshal Asim Munir is working towards peace, prosperity, and public welfare, adding that Pakistan enjoys the support of peace-loving nations on the diplomatic front.
