Dera Ismail Khan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th May, 2026) General Officer Commanding (GOC) 40 Division, Major General Mudassar Saeed, on Sunday said that after suffering defeat on the battlefield, the enemy had resorted to covert tactics aimed at spreading confusion, extremism and divisions within society, urging the people to remain vigilant against such conspiracies.

He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony to mark the completion of one year of the successful “Marka-e-Haq Bunyan-un-Marsoos Operation.”

The GOC said the nation was proudly celebrating the victory and standing tall before the world, adding that Pakistan had defeated an adversary “six times larger in strength.” He termed the celebration a milestone reflecting national unity and resilience.

He said wars were not fought by armed forces alone but by the entire nation, adding that the people of Pakistan had stood shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces and played a decisive role in ensuring victory.

“Without the support and cooperation of the nation, success would not have been possible,” he remarked, emphasizing the importance of both individual and collective responsibilities in safeguarding national integrity.

Major General Mudassar Saeed said Pakistan was a peaceful nation and wished to maintain peace, but the enemy mistook its desire for peace as weakness.

He said that after failing in direct confrontation, hostile forces were now attempting to exploit internal differences to create unrest, uncertainty and instability. He warned that extremism, intolerance and disinformation were being used as tools to weaken the nation.

The GOC urged the people to promote unity, discipline and positive thinking, and to avoid division and discord. He called upon the nation to remember the lessons of love and harmony taught by its forefathers and reject hatred spread by adversaries.

Describing Pakistan as a “divine blessing and a miracle,” he said the nation would not allow the sacrifices rendered for the country to go in vain and would continue to confront terrorism and cowardly acts with full force.

Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Muhammad Daud Khan, speaking on the occasion, said India had a history of targeting Pakistan through aggression and attempts to destabilize the country. He said the recent battle had demonstrated Pakistan’s strong defense capabilities and proved that the armed forces were backed by the entire nation.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ghulam Mubashir Maken said Pakistan came into being after immense sacrifices and one of the largest migrations in human history. He said attempts were being made to create doubts about the ideology of Pakistan and weaken national institutions through conspiracies.

Chairman of the Peace Committee and former provincial minister Abdul Haleem Qasuria thanked the participants and said the ceremony symbolized the strong bond between the public and the security forces. He said the armed forces remained awake to protect the nation while citizens slept peacefully in their homes.

He added that differences of opinion were part of democracy, but attacks on national institutions could not be considered patriotism. He urged the people to stand united with state institutions for the country’s progress and stability.

During the ceremony, a documentary on “Marka-e-Haq Bunyan-un-Marsoos” was screened, while students from Army Public School, Leads school and Cantonment board School presented tableaus and speeches.

The event was attended by personalities from political, social, religious, business, educational, legal and journalistic circles, besides government officials, students, women and youth from various walks of life.
