MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2026) The two-day 2nd Annual Mango Festival, organised under the patronage of Deputy Commissioner Muzaffargarh Usman Tahir Japa, entered its concluding phase amid immense appreciation, at Fayyaz Park on Sunday.
According to a spokesperson for the district administration, the festival attracted a large number of prominent horticulturists, progressive farmers, agricultural experts, students and members of the public from Muzaffargarh and across South Punjab.
The event aimed to promote premium mango varieties, introduce modern agricultural technology and encourage research and development in horticulture. More than 30 stalls were set up at the festival, showcasing over 50 superior and unique mango varieties. The Agriculture (Extension) Department Muzaffargarh made comprehensive arrangements for the event, with various mango varieties drawing special attention from participants.
Informational and research stalls set up by the Mango Research Institute and Nawaz Sharif University provided visitors with useful information on modern mango cultivation, value addition, grading, packing, exports and orchard management.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Agricultural experts also guided farmers on modern production technology and better orchard management practices. Deputy Director Agriculture Tahir Mehmood Bhatti played a prominent role in overseeing all the mango stalls at the festival.
Notable stalls set up by progressive farmers included KGF Fruit Farm Kot Addu, Al-Fazal Fruit Farm Muradabad, Al-Kareem Fruit Farms, Khan Traders Mango Farm and Best Fruit Farms, featuring various high-quality mango varieties on display. A special stall of dates set up by Al-Qasim Bagh, Dera Ghazi Khan, also drew considerable attention from participants.
A mushaira (poetic symposium) held on the first day of the festival received an enthusiastic response from the audience. A colourful musical night also held.
Officials said the festival not only provided an excellent platform to showcase the finest mango varieties but also served as an effective forum for promoting modern agricultural knowledge, research, experience-sharing and business linkages among farmers, agricultural experts, research institutions and the general public.
