QUETTA:

Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jafar Khan Mandokhail has said that while good governance issues often surface in coalition governments, the province has witnessed significant improvements on multiple fronts.

Speaking to journalists after the Balochistan Health Leadership Conference at a local hotel on Saturday, the governor emphasised that as a politician he would never refuse negotiations. "If problems can be resolved through talks, it is always better," he added.

He highlighted progress in the health sector, noting that the District Health Information System has helped ensure staff attendance and the activation of health facilities. "We are hopeful of further improvements in healthcare," Mandokhail said.

Regarding a recent meeting in Islamabad between PML-N leadership and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti along with provincial assembly members, the governor played down speculation. He said internal party matters are not publicised and that any coalition naturally involves concerns from partner parties, which are eventually addressed.

"I do not believe the two-and-a-half-year power-sharing agreement holds such great importance. We should focus on the development of the province," he stressed.
