Man shot, injured during court appearance in Burewala; suspect arrested

VEHARI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) A man was injured in a shooting incident during a court appearance in Burewala, the police said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in the corridor of Additional Sessions Judge Zafarullah Niazi’s courtroom, where the complainant, Hasnain, opened fire on his rival, Malik Tahir, leaving him wounded.

Following the shooting, the injured Malik Tahir managed to overpower the suspect and seize the weapon.

The police said the victim was immediately shifted to a hospital, while the accused was arrested and handed over to Model Town Police Station.

According to police, litigation had been ongoing between the two parties.

The police added that the session judge was on leave at the time of the incident, and further legal proceedings were underway.
