Man shot dead in Kohat’s Jangal Khel area

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) A man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Jangal Khel area of Kohat on Wednesday, according to local sources.

Initial reports said the victim, whose identity had not been officially confirmed, was targeted in a firing incident within the jurisdiction of the Jangal Khel police station. The attackers fled the scene after the shooting.

Local residents and eyewitnesses expressed concern over rising incidents of violence in the area.

Police reached the spot shortly after receiving information about the incident and shifted the body to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Police officials cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to arrest the suspects. A case has been registered, while investigations are underway to determine whether the killing resulted from personal enmity or other motives.

The Regional Police Officer (RPO) Kohat and District Police Officer (DPO) reportedly took notice of the incident and directed the concerned Station House Officer (SHO) to ensure the early arrest of those involved.
