Man shot dead in Jatli area, PO held during crackdown

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) A man was shot dead in the jurisdiction of Jatli police station here on Wednesday, police said.

According to initial reports, the citizen was killed by firing, while investigations were underway from all possible angles.

Police shifted the body to hospital after identification for postmortem and collected evidence from the crime scene.

A case was being registered while efforts were underway to arrest the involved accused, a police spokesman said, adding that those responsible would be brought to justice.

Likewise, Naseerabad police have arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) wanted in a murder case, a police spokesman said.

The accused, who had been absconding since January this year, had allegedly killed a citizen and injured another with a dagger along with accomplices over personal enmity.

Police arrested the accused using human intelligence and other sources.

SP Potohar Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan said the accused would be sent to court with solid evidence to ensure due punishment.
