Man injured in firing near Mehr Shah Stop

KHANEWAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) A 32-year-old man was injured in a firing incident near Mehr Shah Stop in Khanewal on Wednesday, police and rescue officials said.

According to initial reports, unknown assailants opened fire, leaving Ashraf, son of Gul Muhammad, critically injured. On receiving information, teams of Rescue 1122 rushed to the spot, provided first aid and shifted the injured to District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

Police reached the scene, collected evidence and registered an FIR under attempt-to-murder charges against unidentified suspects. Investigators said the attack appeared to be the result of an old enmity, but all aspects of the case were being examined.

Heirs of the victim told police they were unaware of any serious disputes or enemies and demanded early arrest of those involved. Police said raids were under way to trace the culprits and further investigation was continuing.
