Man held for killing youth after minor altercation in Jand

ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2026) Police have arrested a man accused of killing a young resident following a minor altercation in the jurisdiction of Jand Police Station and recovered the alleged weapon used in the crime, officials said on Saturday.

According to police sources, the incident occurred on February 13, 2026, in Mohalla Farooquia, Jand. The victim’s father reported that upon returning home from work, he found a local man allegedly creating a disturbance in the street while carrying a pistol. When his son asked the suspect to stop, the situation escalated.

The accused allegedly opened fire, critically injuring the youth, who was later pronounced dead after succumbing to his injuries.

The suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Following the registration of a case, Jand Police launched a swift operation on the directives of the District Police Officer Attock. A special team traced and apprehended the accused within a short span of time.

Police said the alleged murder weapon, a 30-bore pistol, was also recovered during the investigation. Further inquiry is underway to complete legal formalities and submit the challan before the court.
