Man dies as car plunges into canal

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) A man died after his car veered off the road and fell into Rakh Branch Canal near Kashmir Bridge in the jurisdiction of Madina Town police station,here on Friday.

A Rescue 1122 spokesperson said that the vehicle was heading towards Faisalabad when a tyre burst,causing the driver to lose control and the car to plunge into the canal.

Rescue teams reached the spot shortly after being informed,however,the driver had already drowned before he could be rescued.

The Rescue 1122 team later retrieved the vehicle and recovered the body,identified as Aqib Nazir(40) r/o Chhota Mannanwala on Sheikhupura Road.

The body was shifted to Allied Hospital-II (DHQ Hospital) for postmortem while police initiated further legal formalities.
