Man arrested in shocking attack on 1.5-year-old girl with Knife

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jun, 2026) Police have arrested a suspect within 24 hours for allegedly attacking a 1.5-year-old girl and injuring her with a knife in the neck area, police said on Sunday.

According to a police spokesperson, City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani has taken notice and ordered the immediate arrest of the suspect.

A case was registered on the complaint of police on the last day, while the injured child was shifted to hospital and is now reported to be out of danger after receiving medical treatment.

A police official said the arrest was made following continuous and tireless efforts under the supervision of SP Saddar, SHO Dhamial and their teams actively involved in the investigation.

The suspect was reportedly a relative of the victim’s mother and has confessed to attempting to kill the child due to personal enmity. Authorities further stated that facilitators and accomplices of the suspect will also be arrested soon.

City Police Officer CPO Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani emphasized that violence or abuse against children will not be tolerated under any circumstances and assured that the accused would be awarded strict punishment according to the law.
