Malaria Awareness Seminar held in Larkana

LARKANA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd May, 2026) Under the leadership of Dr. Shaukat Abro, District Health Officer (DHO) Larkana, an awareness seminar on malaria was held at the DHO Office Larkana on Saturday, in observance of the week. A splendid awareness rally was also organized.

The awareness seminar was attended by DHO Larkana Dr. Shaukat Abro, DDHO (VBD) Dr. Farman Ali Abro, DDHO (RMNCH) Dr. Arzam Rasool Siyal, Health education Officer (HEO) Hira Qazi, Indus Coordinator Shehzadi Pirzado, VBD Officer Majeed Ali Sahu, SRSO Coordinator Malik Khuda Bakhsh, along with a large number of doctors, nurses, dispensers, LHWs, CMWs, LHDs, malaria supervisors and social workers.

During the seminar, DDHO Dr. Farman Ali Abro provided guidance to the attendees on preventive measures against malaria and medications for its protection.

Addressing the seminar, District Health Officer (DHO) Larkana Dr.

Shaukat Abro stated that during this week, the DHO Office Larkana has conducted 147 spray operations, including 73 in the city of Larkana and in rural areas.

He further mentioned that larviciding has also been carried out in ponds and drainage channels. Awareness seminars have been held in schools across villages and cities, and over 270 cases have been reported.

Dr. Shaukat Abro praised the efforts of Dr. Farman Ali Abro and the entire VBD team. He gave a message to the public, urging public representatives and social workers to cooperate with the health team so that malaria can be completely eradicated and the entire Larkana district can be made malaria-free.

Finally, under the leadership of DHO Larkana Dr. Shaukat Abro, an awareness rally was taken out from the DHO Office to Chandka Medical College, with participants holding banners to promote malaria prevention awareness among the public.
