A notorious drug dealer wanted in more than 35 criminal cases was killed in an alleged police encounter with Makki Shah police

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) A notorious drug dealer wanted in more than 35 criminal cases was killed in an alleged police encounter with Makki Shah police.

The district police spokesperson informed on Wednesday that Makki Shah police, acting on a tip-off about the presence of a wanted drug dealer near Makrani Phatak, conducted a swift operation to apprehend the suspect.

The spokesperson said that the suspect opened indiscriminate fire at the police party upon seeing them. The police retaliated, and during the exchange of fire, the notorious drug dealer, identified as Imran alias Kalu, was killed.

Police said the deceased was a key dealer of charas and crystal ice and was involved in the sale and supply of narcotics. He was wanted by police in several cases.

During the operation, police recovered 5 kg of charas and a pistol from the suspect’s possession and took them into custody. The body of the deceased was shifted to the hospital for legal formalities.

According to police, the suspect was wanted in more than 35 cases including drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons, police encounters and other serious crimes.
