Makkah prepares 45,000 parking spaces to ease pilgrims’ arrival

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) Makkah Municipality has prepared more than 45,000 parking spaces at the entrances to Makkah as part of efforts to facilitate pilgrims during the Hajj 1447 AH season.

According to SPA, the arrangements are aimed at improving traffic flow, regulating vehicle entry and ensuring smoother movement for pilgrims arriving in the Holy City during the Hajj season.

The municipality said the parking facilities have been prepared under an integrated operational plan covering maintenance, operation, cleaning and support services to maintain full readiness throughout the season.

The report said infrastructure and field services at the parking sites have also been upgraded, while pilgrims’ waiting areas and public facilities were equipped to improve comfort for arriving visitors.

Authorities added that maintenance and monitoring operations have been intensified around the clock to ensure efficient services and smooth traffic management at key entry points leading to Makkah.
