Major (R) Khizer Rehman appointed honorary Advisor to AJK Prime Minister

MIRPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Prominent political figure from Bhimber, Major (retd) Raja Khizur Rehman has been appointed as Honorary Advisor to Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, according to an official notification issued on Thursday.

The appointment was formally notified by the Prime Minister’s Office, confirming his inclusion in the advisory team in an honorary capacity.

Officials said the decision reflects recent political developments in the region.

Raja Khizur Rehman had recently hosted a reception in honour of the AJK Prime Minister during his visit to Samahni in Bhimber district, where he also announced his decision to join the Pakistan Peoples Party.

An official handout further stated that the appointment comes in the context of his growing political engagement and support for the party in Mirpur Division.
