ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) Mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country on Friday, while cold conditions are likely to prevail in hilly areas during night hours, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The Met Office forecast stated that partly cloudy weather with chances of light rain may occur at a few places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, whereas daytime temperatures in plain areas are expected to remain above normal.
In Islamabad and adjoining areas, dry and partly cloudy weather is likely to prevail with daytime temperatures expected to range between 27C and 29C.
Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to experience mainly dry weather, while hilly regions may remain cold during morning and night hours. Partly cloudy conditions with light rain are expected at isolated places including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan and Batagram during evening and night.
The temperatures in plains are likely to remain between 29C and 31C, while hilly areas may record 20C to 22 mC.
In Punjab, mainly dry weather is expected across the province. However, Murree, Galiyat and surrounding areas may witness partly cloudy conditions with chances of light rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorm during the afternoon.
Morning fog is also likely in Narowal and Sialkot, while temperatures in central and southern districts may range between 31C and 33C.
Sindh is expected to remain mostly dry with daytime temperatures likely between 33C and 36C.
Similarly, dry weather is forecast for most districts of Balochistan, while northern areas may experience cold conditions during morning and night hours.
Temperatures in northern districts are expected between 21C and 23C, whereas southern parts may record 33C to 35C.
Partly cloudy weather with chances of light rain is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan during evening and night, while Kashmir may experience cold and partly cloudy conditions with light rain expected in Neelum Valley and Muzaffarabad.
During the past 24 hours, weather remained mainly dry across the country, though light rain was recorded at isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Saidu Sharif (02mm) and Lower Dir (01mm). Morning fog was reported in Sialkot and surrounding areas.
The lowest minimum temperatures recorded were Astore (-1C), Skardu (0C) and Bagrote (1C), the Met Office added.
