With only four days remaining before Eid al-Azha, commercial activity has reached its peak at the 'Awami Doost Mandi' established at Karachi’s Northern Bypass.

An unprecedented surge in buying during the final week has left nearly 60 percent of the market vacant, while a steady influx of buyers continues to pour in for the remaining livestock.

According to the market administration, all previous sales records for various breeds of cows, bulls, goats, camels, and sheep have been shattered this season.

Despite intense summer heat and high humidity levels, citizens are actively engaged in selecting sacrificial animals day and night.

The various blocks of the market are witnessing a significant footfall of families, including women and children, navigating the expansive grounds to finalize purchases.

The cattle traders noted that due to rapid sales over the past few days, stock levels have dropped significantly, thereby narrowing options for late buyers.
