Main Ashura-e-Muharram mourning procession emerges from Nishter Park

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) The main Ashura-e-Muharram mourning procession in the port city amidst strict security arrangement emerged from Nishter Park here on Friday.

The main mourning procession of Ashura-e-Muharram taken out in the port city, after passing through its traditional route, will be ended at the Husseiniya Irania Imambara Kharadar - district South Karachi.

Ample and foolproof security arrangements have been made by the Sindh police along with Sindh Rangers and other law enforcement agencies for the main Ashura procession.

Bomb Disposal squad is also deployed.

The main procession route and surrounding roads have been sealed off with containers, while special surveillance arrangements have also been put in place on high-rise buildings.

The M.A. Jinnah Road is closed for traffic due to Ashura-e-Muharram main procession and traffic is being routed to the alternative routes announced by the Karachi Traffic police to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

Citizens have been urged to adhere to the traffic plan during the procession and avoid unnecessary travel.
