Main accused of gang rape, murder injured in police encounter

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Mar, 2026) The Jamshoro district police on Monday arrested Mashooq Khoso, an accused in the rape and murder FIR of Sanbreen Pathan, in injured condition after an encounter in Manjhand area.

The police spokesman informed that Mashooq was the main accused in the FIR while 8 other accused persons nominated in the same FIR were already in the police custody.

According to him, the police received a tip-off about the presence of Mashooq in a locality after which they raided the place but the accused allegedly resisted his arrest.

The dead body of Sanbreen was found near Khosa village on February 9, some days after she went missing.

The postmortem later revealed gang rape and murder.

The police had arrested Noor Khan alias Nooro, Rano, Jani, Ali Nawaz, Asghar, Gul Sher, Dadu alias Dadan and Wazir, all Khoso by caste, before rounding up the main accused Mashooq.
