MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) A three-day series of events highlighting the dignity, respect and social status of women will begin at Multan Arts Council (MAC) from May 14 under the auspices of the council.
Director Arts Council Saleem Qaiser said the celebrations would feature painting, tableau and speech competitions based on the theme: “We are mothers, sisters and daughters; the honour of nations lies with us.”
He said the painting competition would be held on Thursday, May 14, at 9am at the Zawar Hussain Art Gallery of the Arts Council. Students aged between 15 and 30 years, along with members of the general public, both men and women, will participate by expressing the theme through their artwork.
Cash prizes of Rs50,000, Rs30,000 and Rs20,000 will be awarded to the winners securing first, second and third positions respectively. Participants will use an 18x24 canvas with an open medium and will bring their own art materials.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The tableau competition will take place on Friday, May 15, at 9am at the Aslam Ansari Auditorium of the Arts Council. The age limit for participants has been fixed between 10 and 22 years. Winners of the competition will receive cash prizes of Rs30,000, Rs25,000 and Rs20,000 respectively from the Punjab Arts Council.
A speech competition on the same theme will be held on Saturday, May 16, at 9am at the Aslam Ansari Auditorium. Participants aged between 15 and 30 years will be allowed to compete, while each speech will have a duration of three to five minutes.
The first position holder in the speech contest will receive Rs30,000, the second position holder Rs25,000 and the third position holder Rs20,000 as cash prizes from the Punjab Arts Council.
Participation certificates will also be awarded to all contestants in the three competitions, while the judges’ decisions will be considered final.
