The people belonging to different walks of life, students and culture enthusiasts participated in the event.
The ceremony particularly highlighted this year’s international theme, “Museums Unite a Divided World”, emphasizing the role of museums in fostering understanding, tolerance and unity among communities.
Museum officers Shehnaz Mahmood, Sidra Shah, Nabeela Tabassum and Sajid Sattar cut the cake along with staff members and students to mark the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Shehnaz Mahmood said that museums played an important role in promoting love, tolerance, awareness and cultural harmony in society.

She said that Lyallpur Museum was preserving the cultural, historical and civilizational traditions of Punjab and Pakistan through its ten unique galleries.
The participants were informed that the museum housed rare antiques, ancient documents, cultural artifacts and historical heritage items that were helping connect the younger generation with their identity and past.
Later, the participants also visited different galleries of the museum and reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen the role of museums in preservation of cultural heritage and promotion of education and public awareness.
