Livestock launches crackdown with zero tolerance against adulterated cottonseed cake

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Mar, 2026) The livestock department accelerated crackdown by adopting zero tolerance against

the preparation and sale of adulterated cottonseed cake.

In this connection, surprise inspections of feed production units were also initiated to safeguard

animal health and ensure supply of quality feed across the district.

A spokesman for the livestock department said that Additional Director Livestock Dr Rubina Anjum

accompanied by Deputy Director Dr Sohail Ahmad Anjum paid an unannounced visit to Ravi Traders Awan Wala and Madina Oil Mills on Satiana Road.

During inspection, the team thoroughly reviewed quality, hygiene standards and production processes of cottonseed cake, wheat bran and other available animal feeds.

The inspection team examined storage conditions, raw material handling and manufacturing procedures to assess compliance with prescribed standards.

They issued notices to the concerned owners for obtaining valid licenses and completing mandatory registration, directing them to strictly adhere to government regulations.

Meanwhile, Director Livestock Dr Haidar Ali Khan said that the livestock department launched operation to protect animal health, improve quality of milk and meat in addition to ensuring the availability of standardized feed in the market.
