FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2026) The Livestock Department has launched crackdown on the units involved in the production of adulterated cottonseed cake and substandard animal feed in different areas of the district.
Deputy Director Livestock Dr. Sohail Ahmad Anjum conducted a detailed inspection of Feeds Mill Khanuana while Deputy Director Livestock Jaranwala Dr. Muhammad Usman Mirza visited Waqar Bilal Ameen Oil Mill in Satiana to review feed manufacturing processes.
During inspections, the livestock officers examined the preparation of cottonseed cake and other feed products. They checked quality control measures and sanitation arrangements in these mills.
They collected samples of dairy and fattening feeds, cottonseed cake, wheat bran, rice polish and other ingredients for laboratory analysis to verify compliance with prescribed standards.
They also issued notices and directed the mills owners for obtaining licenses and completing registration in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Meanwhile, Director Livestock Dr. Haidar Ali Khan said that these measures were being taken to safeguard animal health, improve quality of milk and meat, and ensure standard of animal feed in the district.
Livestock Department was strictly implementing a zero-tolerance policy against adulteration in line with government instructions and indiscriminate action against violators would continue to protect livestock sector and public health, he added.
