The United States and Israel have launched coordinated major military strikes against Iran, targeting multiple strategic sites across the country in what Washington described as a broad combat operation aimed at degrading Tehran’s military capabilities and eliminating perceived threats. The offensive has been characterized by significant aerial and missile attacks on Iranian leadership facilities and military infrastructure.
In retaliation, Iran has responded with a large barrage of ballistic missiles and drones launched toward Israel and U.S. military assets across the Gulf region, including strikes reported over Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar in recent days.
Iranian forces have also fired missiles that struck Israeli cities, including Beit Shemesh, where at least nine people were killed in a residential area as air raid sirens sounded across the country.
Israel’s defence establishment confirmed that air raid sirens were activated nationwide to warn civilians of incoming threats as rocket barrages continued.
In a video statement, the U.S. President reaffirmed that extensive military operations are underway, emphasizing the goal of dismantling what he termed the “cruel regime’s capacity to threaten regional stability.”
