ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2026) A woman was killed and her husband injured after lightning struck a motorcycle-riding couple near Pindigheb during a thunderstorm on Monday evening, rescue and police sources said.

According to officials, Abdul Aziz, son of Sultan Muhammad and a resident of Mohalla Hari Wala, was returning home from Kot Fateh Khan with his wife, Sameena Naz, when the incident occurred near the Sughir area at around 7:45 pm.

A sudden lightning strike hit the couple while they were on the road.

Rescue sources confirmed that Sameena Naz died on the spot due to the impact of the lightning strike, while Abdul Aziz sustained injuries. He was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Pindigheb, where he is receiving medical treatment.

Police completed legal formalities and handed over the body to the bereaved family.
