Life term for murder, robbery

KHANEWAL, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jul, 2026) An additional sessions court awarded life imprisonment to a man for murder and robbery.

Additional Sessions Judge Kabirwala Sajeeda Akhtar heard case No. 486/19, registered at Kabirwala Sadar police station. Based on lawyers' arguments, witness statements and evidence, the court convicted Muhammad Jaffar, son of Muhammad Nawaz, caste Turgarh, of murdering Zulfiqar and committing robbery.

The convict was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder and ordered to pay Rs 500,000 as compensation to the legal heirs of the deceased, failing which he will undergo an additional six months of simple imprisonment.

Under Section 394, he was awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000. Under Section 411, he was given three years rigorous imprisonment.

The court ordered that all sentences would run concurrently and issued warrants directing the Superintendent of Khanewal District Jail to take the convict into custody and ensure implementation of the sentence.
