LHC seeks PCB reply over petition against PSL night matches under floodlights

Directive comes during the hearing of a petition filed against the scheduling of PSL night matches

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-April 22^nd, 2026) The Lahore High Court has directed the Pakistan cricket board (PCB) to submit a formal response on a petition challenging the holding of Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches under floodlights.

The directive came during the hearing of a petition filed against the scheduling of PSL night matches.

The court instructed the PCB’s counsel to present a detailed reply before the next hearing.

During proceedings, the PCB lawyer opposed the petition, stating that PSL matches are conducted using generator-based power arrangements and that electricity from WAPDA is not used for the events.

After initial arguments, the court adjourned the hearing until May 5 for further proceedings.
