LHC reserves verdict on plea seeking permission for Basant celebrations across Punjab

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday reserved its verdict on a petition seeking permission to celebrate Basant festival across Punjab.

Justice Malik Muhammad Awais Khalid heard the petition filed by Ms Ashba Kamran and, after hearing arguments from the parties, reserved the decision on the plea.

The court is expected to announce its verdict on Friday.

During the hearing, the petitioner’s counsel argued that facilitating Basant celebrations was the responsibility of the provincial government and urged the court to allow the festival to be held across Punjab.

After completion of arguments, the court reserved its judgment on the petition.
