LGH celebrates Eid with gifts for children with Thalassemia and blood disorders

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) Principal Ameer-ud-Din Medical College,Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal, distributed Eid gifts among children suffering from thalassemia and various blood disorders undergoing treatment at Lahore General Hospital (LGH),here on Wednesday.

Addressing the ceremony,Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal stated that children are a precious asset and a guarantee of a bright future.

He emphasized that ensuring their health and happiness was a collective responsibility.

He added that along with providing quality medical care,the initiative aimed to include these children in Eid celebrations so they do not feel isolated.

Prof. Muhammad Shahid and MS Prof. Dr.Faryad Hussain highlighted that, under the directives of the Government of Punjab, particularly Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the best possible medical facilities were being provided to children suffering from thalassemia and blood disorders by utilizing all available resources.

Prof. Dr.Farooq Afzal said that special care,timely provision of blood and modern medical facilities were being ensured for thalassemia patients at LGH to improve and safeguard their lives.

During the event,Eid gifts were distributed among the children, bringing smiles to their faces.

Parents expressed gratitude and appreciated the hospital administration’s compassionate efforts, stating that such initiatives boost the morale of children and help them experience joy despite their illness.

The hospital administration reaffirmed its commitment to continuing such welfare initiatives for the well-being of patients in the future.

The ceremony was attended by MS LGH Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain, Prof. Muhammad Shahid, Prof. Hassan Suleman Malik, Dr. Abdul Aziz, along with doctors, nursing staff and a large number of parents.
