Known for his distinctive voice, elegant presentation style and memorable screen presence, legendary broadcaster, television host, film actor and literary personality Tariq Aziz was born in Jalandhar on April 28, 1936.
He became one of the most influential figures in Pakistan’s broadcasting history, leaving a lasting impression through his exceptional communication skills and unique hosting style, media reports added.
Tariq Aziz began his career with Radio Pakistan in the 1960s before becoming one of the pioneering faces of Pakistan Television. His powerful voice, confidence and command over language earned him widespread recognition among audiences across the country.

The programme later continued with the titles Tariq Aziz Show and Bazm-e-Tariq Aziz, becoming one of the longest-running and most memorable shows in Pakistan’s television history.
Apart from broadcasting, Tariq Aziz also worked in films and appeared in movies including Chiragh Kahan Roshni Kahan, Salgirah, Qasam Us Waqt Ki, Katari, Haar Gaya Insan, and Insaniyat, showcasing his versatility as an artist.
In recognition of his outstanding services to Pakistan’s entertainment industry, Tariq Aziz was awarded the Pride of Performance in 1994.
He passed away on June 17, 2020, at the age of 84 in Lahore, leaving behind a remarkable legacy in media, television and culture.
