LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Provincial Minister for Law, on Wednesday met with representatives of the District Bar Associations of Okara and Pakpattan to discuss challenges faced by the legal fraternity and measures for improving judicial infrastructure.
During the meeting, delegations from the Okara and Pakpattan Bars highlighted key issues in their respective districts, including the need for funds for the construction of bar chambers in Okara, upgradation of library facilities, and allocation of additional resources for bar associations. The representatives also stressed that the legal community should be consulted prior to any amendments to laws to ensure their concerns are effectively addressed.
The minister listened to the concerns and directed relevant authorities to formulate a comprehensive plan to resolve the issues faced by lawyers.
He stated that phased measures would be taken to provide chambers, improve library facilities, and ensure other essential amenities.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan said that the problems of the legal community would be addressed on a priority basis, adding that the improvement of judicial infrastructure remains a key focus.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Secretary Law Aitizaz Marth and Barrister Javed Iqbal. The delegation included President Okara Bar Chaudhry Farooq Ashraf, General Secretary Tariq Naseem, former President Rai Abdul Ghafoor, President Pakpattan Bar Rao Amjad Ilyas, and Advocate and Member Punjab Bar Council Rao Muhammad Ashraf.
