SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Mar, 2026) The true spirit of Eid-ul-Fitr came alive across Sargodha and its adjoining areas on Saturday, mirroring celebrations across Punjab, as families gathered in joy and children reveled in the excitement of receiving Eidi.

From early morning, the region — including Sillanwali, Sahiwal, Kot Momin, Bhalwal, Bhera and Shahpur Sadar — echoed with laughter, warm greetings, and a renewed sense of togetherness. Following Eid prayers, people embraced one another, exchanged heartfelt wishes, and stepped out to visit relatives and friends, carrying sweets and envelopes filled with Eidi.

Children, at the heart of the festivities, expressed boundless excitement. “I came to my sister’s house to congratulate her and gave Rs5,000 as Eidi to my nephews,” said Usman Khan, reflecting the cherished tradition of giving that defines the occasion.

These simple yet meaningful gestures strengthened family bonds and multiplied happiness across the region. Public spaces, including parks and recreational spots, were filled with families, while newly established attractions—such as the local zoo—drew large crowds of visitors, especially children.

Among them was Nimra Khan, a 12-year-old celebrating Eid with enthusiasm. “I received Rs5,000 as Eidi this year,” she said with a smile during her visit to Shahpur. “I spent some on toys and outings, and donated the rest to orphaned children. Helping others made my Eid even more joyful.”

Across the division, public spaces turned into vibrant hubs of celebration, with families thronging popular spots such as the zoo park and Company Bagh. Meanwhile, along the banks of the River Jhelum, the festive mood blended seamlessly with nature’s charm. Visitors enjoyed boat rides, relished freshly fried fish, and gathered for lively barbecues, adding to the color and warmth of the day.

Altogether, the celebrations reflected not only festivity but also the deeper essence of Eid — compassion, generosity, and the strengthening of social bonds.
