LARKANA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) An important meeting of the Executive Committee Members, Past Presidents and Business Community of Larkana Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held under the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh and

President of Larkana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Khair Muhammad Sheikh on Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by Syed Fawad Shah, Managing Director of SITE Limited, Karachi,Sharjeel Noor Channa, Deputy Commissioner District Larkana, Muhammad Younis Dahri, Secretary SITE Limited, Karachi as guests.

Khair Muhammad Sheikh, President Larkana Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomed the guests and business community in the meeting. He said that Larkana is one of the important producing areas of Pakistan’s famous rice aree 06.

Larkana district produces approximately 242,000 metric tons of rice every year. Overall, the division contributes approximately Rs. 90 billion annually through rice production, which reflects its strong agro-economic potential and industrial development potential.

The business community thanked Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, for their efforts in inaugurating the new industrial estate on Areja Road in Larkana in 2021. In the meeting, members of the business community urged SITE Limited to give priority to local business people in allotment of industrial plots and this will improve sustainable economic development in the region.

In the meeting, the Managing Director and Secretary of SITE Limited Karachi informed that we have allotted 13 plots to those who have qualified.

He said that the Larkana project has been converted into an Industrial Free Economic Zone by the Federal government. As a result, the previous applications have been cancelled and a new online application portal has been launched through a new advertisement in collaboration with the federal government in which interested candidates were invited to apply as per the prescribed criteria.

In the meeting, President Khair Muhammad Sheikh told the business community that we will request the Sindh government and the federal government to consider extending the allotment period for industrial plots or meet the Sindh government’s Minister for Commerce and Industry to address the concerns of stakeholders and ensure industrial development in Larkana.

Finally, the Managing Director, Secretary of SITE Limited Karachi and a delegation from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited the SITE Industrial Zone Arja Road, where they also discussed the scheme for providing express feeder for electricity supply, supply of LPG and completion of the boundary wall.

This meeting was attended by Senior Vice President Harish Lal, Vice President Jamal Mustafa Sheikh, former presidents Hafiz Muhammad Suleman, Muhammad Azam, Asif Raza Sheikh, Nisarullah Sheikh, Executive Committee Members Asad Ali Tanio, Abdul Latif, Rasool Bakhsh Sheikh, Ali Raza Khokar, Liaquat Ali, Abdul Rashid, Sunil Kumar, and other businessmen.
