Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) here Tuesday organized an awareness session on Islamic Banking and Finance to educate the business community, industrialists, and traders about the Islamic financial system, interest-free banking, and Shariah-compliant business practices

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2026) Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) here Tuesday organized an awareness session on Islamic Banking and Finance to educate the business community, industrialists, and traders about the Islamic financial system, interest-free banking, and Shariah-compliant business practices.

Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri was the chief guest, while LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol, Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh, former President Mian Anjum Nisar, former VP Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, LCCI Executive Committee members Shouban Akhtar, Rana Nisar, Amina Randhawa, banking professionals, economists, business leaders, and representatives of various trade bodies attended the session.

Addressing the participants, LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol said that the Lahore Chamber is continuously taking steps to create awareness among the business community about modern economic trends and Islamic finance. He said that Islamic banking is not only in line with religious principles but also provides the foundation for a stable and ethical economic system.

In his keynote address, Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that the Islamic economic system is not merely an alternative but a comprehensive, fair, and sustainable financial model that promotes economic stability, transparency, and social justice.

He said that in view of current global economic challenges, the importance of Islamic banking and interest-free finance has increased significantly.

He said that islam promotes trade, honesty, and economic balance, while the interest-based system creates inequality and exploitation. He urged the business community to adopt Islamic financial principles and use Shariah-compliant financial solutions for the stability and growth of the national economy.

Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri also highlighted different models of Islamic banking, including Mudarabah, Musharakah, and other Shariah-compliant financial instruments. He said that Islamic financial institutions are fully capable of meeting the needs of the business sector. He stressed that awareness and training are essential to familiarize businessmen with the benefits of the Islamic financial system.

At the end of the session, a question-and-answer session was also held in which participants asked various questions regarding Islamic banking and financial matters, which were answered in detail.
