Lady doctor shot dead in KDA locality; DPO orders swift probe

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Feb, 2026) A lady doctor was shot dead here in the posh KDA locality, after an unidentified assailant opened fire on her, police said.

According to police spokesman, the incident occurred in the early hours of the day.

Law enforcement officials and rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information and shifted the body to the District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Shehbaz Elahi, District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat, visited the crime scene and directed the investigation team to carry out a swift, professional, and multi-dimensional probe.

He stated that all available resources would be utilized to trace and arrest the perpetrator at the earliest.

The DPO emphasized that those involved in the heinous act would be brought to justice without any leniency.

He added that evidence collected from the scene had been sent for forensic analysis, while a search operation had been launched in surrounding areas to track down the suspect.
