Labourer dies in mine accident

HARIPUR:

A 21-year-old labourer was killed in an accident at a gypsum mine in the Sanjliyal village area of Upper Khanpur.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Amir Muawiya, son of Mushtaq Ahmed and a resident of Gamawan. He was hit by an excavator machine while working in the mine.

Sources said the accident occurred during routine work at the mine when the labourer came under the excavator and suffered critical injuries. People present at the site attempted rescue efforts, but he succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Local residents informed the Pand Miniam police post about the incident.
