ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Housing, Dr. Amjad Ali on Tuesday announced an Rs80 million development package for Havelian Township, including the construction of a Jamia Mosque and a Mini Sports Complex, besides offering free
5-kilowatt solar systems to people building houses in the housing scheme.
The announcement came during an open public forum held at the Havelian Housing Scheme, where the minister met plot allottees and listened to their concerns. Chairman DEDAC Abbottabad and Member Provincial Assembly Iftikhar Khan, Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Housing Authority, and other officials were also present.
Dr. Amjad Ali said he visited Havelian on the special instructions of Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur and assured allottees that the shortage of facilities in the township would be addressed. He said electricity and water facilities were already available, while directions had been issued to the relevant department to arrange a gas pipeline for the scheme.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The minister said Rs 80 million had been allocated in the current provincial budget for the township's development. He added that a Jamia Mosque and a Mini Sports Complex equipped with facilities for volleyball, futsal and other sports would be constructed.
Directing the Director General of the Housing Authority, Dr. Amjad Ali instructed that tenders for all development projects should be floated within the next three months.
He also announced that every allottee constructing a house in the township would receive a free 5kW solar power system, encouraging residents to begin construction without hesitation.
Regarding the long-standing issue of compensation for landowners who provided land for the housing scheme, the minister said the provincial government would fully comply with the relevant court orders.
