PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health Khaliq Ur Rehman on Tuesday directed health authorities to intensify preparations for the dengue season, stressing the need for proactive surveillance, coordinated response and uninterrupted availability of medical facilities across the province.
Presiding over a meeting at the Health Secretariat, the minister reviewed the Health Department's performance, ongoing public health programmes and institutional priorities. Senior officials, including Secretary Health Fayyaz Ali Shah and Director General Health Services, attended the meeting.
Khaliq Ur Rehman instructed the department to strengthen dengue surveillance, expand vector control operations and accelerate public awareness campaigns to minimize the risk of outbreaks.

Emphasizing efficient governance, the minister said improved coordination among the Health Secretariat, district health authorities and hospitals was essential for effective service delivery. He directed officials to ensure that progress reports were based on verified field data and reflected practical achievements.
The minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to strengthening the public health system and providing timely, quality healthcare services to people across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while maintaining vigilance against dengue and other public health challenges.
