KP govt arranges forest exposure visit for journalists

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has arranged an exposure visit for journalists to forest areas to provide firsthand information on forest conservation and management.

Provincial Information Minister Shafi Ullah Jan said the visit, organized on the directives of Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, aims to enable media representatives to independently observe ground realities and interact with forestry experts, local communities, and government officials.

The first delegation, comprising around 30 journalists from Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi, will visit the Kohistan Forest Division, Kaghan Forest Division, Nathia Gali Fast Range, and woodlot depots.

During the visit, participants will receive briefings on forest protection laws, measures to curb illegal logging, biodiversity conservation, natural regeneration, scientific harvesting, and modern forest monitoring systems.

The minister said journalists have been encouraged to report any illegal logging or forest-related violations observed during the visit, assuring that all such complaints would be thoroughly investigated and action taken in accordance with the law.
