PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jun, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has allocated Rs. 52 billion for the roads sector in its Budget 2026–27, aiming to improve transportation infrastructure and connectivity across the province.

According to the budget documents, Rs52 billion has been earmarked specifically for road development projects, with work set to begin on 243 new schemes, while 482 ongoing projects are nearing completion.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi who presented the budget said that initiative is expected to strengthen links between rural and urban areas, improve mobility, create employment opportunities, and support economic growth across the province.

He said said better road infrastructure would help provide safer and easier travel for the public while enhancing overall living standards.
