KP Govt allocates RS.15 billion for tourism development: MPA Munir Lughmani

MANSEHRA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) Member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Munir Hussain Lughmani has said that tourism promotion is a top priority of the provincial government, which has allocated Rs15 billion for the development of the sector.

He was speaking at the first national conference titled “Sustainable Tourism Development in Pakistan: Potential, Challenges and the Way Forward” held at the University of Hazara, organized by its Department of Tourism and Hospitality.

Speakers at the conference highlighted Pakistan’s vast tourism potential and stressed the need for improved infrastructure, community participation, and sustainable development policies.

They said coordinated efforts between government, academia, and the private sector are essential to fully utilize the country’s tourism resources.

Speakers including provincial ministers, senior officials, and academics emphasized that Hazara University is playing a key role in promoting research and training in the tourism sector, and such conferences help develop practical policy recommendations.

The event was attended by government officials, academics, tourism experts, hotel operators, and a large number of students.
