Dera Ismail Khan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th May, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority carried out inspection operations in Paharpur tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan and imposed fines on a pops factory and a butcher shop for violating food safety regulations, officials said on Saturday.
According to the authority, food safety teams inspected various food outlets and production units to ensure compliance with hygiene and halal food standards.
During the operation, a pops factory was fined over poor hygiene conditions and suspected use of substandard edible oil.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Oil samples collected from the unit were sent to the laboratory for examination.
A butcher shop was also penalised for failing to observe mandatory cleanliness and food safety measures.
The authority further directed shopkeepers and business owners to renew their food licences and strictly implement food safety guidelines to avoid legal action in future.
Officials said the authority would continue regular inspections to ensure the availability of safe and quality food products to consumers across the district.
