PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recovered a large quantity of narcotics in two separate operations carried out in Khyber and Peshawar, seizing 10 kilograms of heroin and 525 grams of Ice (crystal meth) while arresting a woman suspect and registering cases against the accused.
The operations were conducted as part of the provincial government’s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics, under which the Excise Department has intensified intelligence-based actions across the province to curb drug trafficking and protect society from the growing menace of drugs.
According to details, received from the department, the Excise Intelligence Squad in Khyber foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of heroin during a successful operation.
The action was carried out under the supervision of Provincial In-charge Excise Intelligence Saud Khan Gandapur and Excise and Taxation Officer (Counter Narcotics Operations) Majid Khan.
During the operation, Inspector Excise Intelligence Squad Zarjan Khan and Sub-Inspector Nasir Amir, along with other personnel, acted on a tip-off and intercepted a motor car bearing registration number LEB-7744.
During the search of the vehicle, the team recovered 10,000 grams (10 kilograms) of heroin. A case has been registered at Excise Police Station Khyber and further investigation is underway.
In another operation, the Excise Police Peshawar Region foiled a narcotics smuggling attempt and arrested a woman suspect. The action was conducted under the supervision of Majid Khan, ETO (Counter Narcotics Operations).
In this operation, SHO Excise Police Station Peshawar Region Imad Khan, along with Sub-Inspector Sajjad Momand, lady constable and other personnel, intercepted a suspicious woman near Doranpur Morr towards the Motorway.
During the search conducted by the lady constable, 525 grams of Ice was recovered from her possession. A case has been registered at Excise Police Station Peshawar Region and further investigation has been initiated.
Officials of the Excise Department said that operations against drug traffickers will continue across the province with greater intensity, adding that strict action will be taken against those involved in narcotics trafficking to safeguard the younger generation from the menace of drugs.
