Kohatians association holds first digital election, records strong member participation

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) The Kohatians Association has successfully completed its first democratic election through an electronic voting system, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s history and expanding participation among members in Pakistan and abroad.

The Kohatians Association was established to connect graduates of Cadet College Kohat, strengthen alumni engagement and promote professional, social and community networks among former cadets, said a press release.

The election was held from June 6 to June 8, 2026, allowing members to cast votes regardless of their location.

According to the Association, 1,417 members participated in the voting process out of 2,067 registered voters, resulting in a turnout of 68.6 percent.

The Association stated that the election results were independently verified and certified by the Election Commission to maintain transparency and credibility.

Members elected Dr Viqar Ahmed Khan as President, Maqbool Mohammad as Vice President, Muhammad Humayun as General Secretary and Fiaz Akbar Jafri as Finance Secretary for the next term.

Following completion of the election process, a transition meeting between the outgoing and newly elected leadership was held on June 14 to ensure a smooth transfer of responsibilities.

Association representatives termed the election an important development for increasing member participation and strengthening the role of alumni in organizational decision-making.

They added that the strong voter turnout reflected active engagement from Kohatians across different regions.

The association also thanked the Election Commission, candidates, chapter representatives, volunteers and members for contributing to the successful conduct of the election.
